In the scope of the deployment of the Track Circuit Life Check (TLC) at EUROTUNNEL for ANSALDO UM71CB and TVM-430 infrastructure inspection, the Eurotunnel’s Krupp Diesel Locomotive 903 and 904 are using old SNCF designed TGV PSB ICC sensors for gathering shunted track circuits currents (working with TLC ICC subsystem).
Since Eurotunnel wanted to equip all the Diesel Krupp locomotives with TVM measuring sensors for the TLC, ERTMS Solutions has been consulted for the design, manufacturing and supply of 30 TVM measuring sensors equivalent to the TGV PSB measuring ones already installed in the 903 and 904 locomotives.
ERTMS Solutions delivered on August 1st, 2019 a total of 30 units of N30-400N freshly manufactured “TGV PSB equivalent” sensors to be fitted on all Eurotunnel Krupp diesel locomotives.
The rollout is expected during the second semester of 2019 so that the TrackCircuitLifeCheck installed in Eurotunnel’s Track Inspection Car will be usable with any of the available diesel locomotives. In that way track inspection frequency shall be increased to achieve better maintenance targets.
