Belgorail is an inspection and certification body formed in June 2004 to cover the need for voluntary and regulatory certification in the rail sector. Belgorail onsite test activities are one key element in the process of having new or upgraded trackside and/or rolling stock with ERTMS in service.
They will perform onsite tests in the context of the ERTMS Eurostar project by Siemens Germany. To optimize test and commissioning on this project, they will use the ERTMSCamCorder.
The ERTMSCamCorder provides integrated ERTMS onsite testing recording and analysis. It is a recording tool to be installed on-board the test train, in order to record all ETCS events. It allows post-test replay, analysis and reporting.
Andrea Marchi, Project-leader Rolling Stock at Belgorail said:
“For the ERTMS Eurostar project, we will definitely use the ERTMSCamCorder, as we are doing since 2014 for all our projects. This tool became necessary to ensure viable tests and analysis. We can focus on the overall ERTMS onboard system behavior during the test runs on the track and, in a second phase, in our offices, deeply analyze any specific reaction we want to investigate. This, thanks to DMI+Track+JRU synchronized recording and playback.” (See also the 2015 testimonial video of Belgorail)
With an ERTMSCamCorder Player license, Siemens Germany will also enjoy the advantages of the ERTMSCamCorder for their own pre-validation tests, and to replay and analyze the onsite certification tests performed by Belgorail, which will ease their work.
