The ERTMSCamCorder is a unique onboard testing tool that allows full and synchronized recordingreplay and reporting of all trackside and onboard data required during the testing and commissioning phase of any significant ETCS rail project. A way to reduce the testing post-processing time and which also reduces the track occupancy for testing.

The ERTMSCamCorder delivers three essential functionalities which result in the complete optimization of the testing process. Not only does the ERTMSCamCorder record DMI and track all data transiting on the train’s BUS, it also allows for this data to be played in a synchronized fashion. The ERTMSCamCorder also delivers official reports containing all the information required for the testing and commissioning phase of a project.

In addition to supporting all types and brands of OBU, ERTMS Solutions has initiated compatibility agreements with suppliers of OBU to provide additional guarantees of the ERTMSCamCorder and OBU compatibility.

ERTMSCamCorder and the Onboard Monitoring Box

The ERTMSCamCorder can be used either independently, or, in partner- ship with the Onboard Monitoring Box. When coupled, these tools provide a superior analysis during your test journey, including information from the European Vital Computer (EVC).

The Onboard Monitoring Box (OMB) is a passive acquisition and monitoring device, developed by ERTMS Solutions. The non-disruptive approach works by collecting real-time messages that are exchanged between various ERTMS OBU sub-systems (such as the EVC, JRU, and STMs) and transfers this information to a configurable application software.

This information is then decoded, allowing the protocols to be displayed according to the ERTMS definitions which enable users to see whether the messages are compatible with ERTMS specifications. Without the Onboard Monitoring Box, the JRU information gathered can only be im- ported after the test journey.
