In the framework of The BaliseLifeCheck’s project on SNCF ETG measurement train, we’ve been asked by our client to test and validate our product.
Our BLC is performing laboratory and measurements according to ERA/UNISIG subset 085 v3.0.0, which are a set of specifications for testing balises and BTM according to ERTMS/ETCS baseline 3. This test and validation will show that our test product performs measurements according to SUBSET 085.
We have chosen RINA Railway Certification Laboratory
The railway certification department of RINA delivers services of classification, certification, testing and inspection to guarantee excellence to organizations in transport and logistics, the marine, environment and energy, infrastructures and agri-food sectors.
This laboratory is one of the most qualified to accomplish these EUROBALISE/BTM tests according to SUBSET 085 because they have consolidated exceptional skills in certifying management systems, and have a recognized expertise in the field of both balises and BTM, and have recently reached ISO 17025 accreditation as a test laboratory.
We are considering a long collaboration with RINA in perspective of more on-board and laboratory testing products’ development.
Two families of tests will be performed:
- First, they will measure and characterize the quality and the intensity of the telepowering signal to ensure that the balises are properly energized. This is a mandatory requirement in order to prove that the BLC system will not cause neither damage nor perturbation to trackside signaling system, in compliance with EMC requirem, ents and ETSI standards for radio emission.
- The purpose of the second set of tests will be to prove that the uplink signal quality measurement done by the BLC are equivalent to those performed, in a lab environment, by an accredited laboratory.
