Nowadays, the control of Eurobalises is mainly manual and basic. There are several tools available on the market to help performing Eurobalise maintenance, but a vast majority of them follow a corrective approach. ERTMS Solutions’ BaliseLifeCheck is the only onboard tool able to do predictive maintenance.
The BaliseLifeCheck system is an onboard preventive and predictive maintenance tool for the diagnosis of balises used in different railways signaling systems.
- On-board: the system has been designed to be installed on-board a test or maintenance train which purpose is to analyse and test tracks and active lines
- Preventive/predictive maintenance: the system is to be used to test, measure and detect faulty balises that are fully installed on lines already in service, or tracks to be put into service
- Diagnosis: the main goal of the tool is to provide measurements and evidences which assess the correct behavior of balises that are already deployed on the field
- Measurement: to measure key electrical parameters of the uplink signal and verify if they comply with the requirements of SUBSET 036 in the case of ETCS balises. In this case some measurements/tests are performed against requirements of SUBSET-085.
Here below on the video, some examples of defected balises identified thanks to the BaliseLifeCheck.
